We all need a bit of support at some point in our lives. From small children learning how to gain independence, teenagers who need support with managing their changing hormones, adults who need a bit of help when times are tough, and the elderly who may find things aren’t as easy as in previous years. Regardless of the reason, we all need a bit of help sometimes.
However, we do understand there is a level of stigma and stereotypes associated with having ‘carers’ in to support you. Due to this, we have changed the wording of it all to cover a wider array of needs and individuals. Our staff are Healthcare Assistants, there to assist you, rather than carers. Likewise, you would be a client, not a service user or patient, as you are opting for our services to be provided.
We have several clients who only have a single visit each week, as that’s all they need support-wise. Our minimum visit length is 30 minutes, but we can discuss your individual needs when we assess before care is put into place. Speak to one of our Care Co-ordinators today to see if we can help.
While the main focus of our visits is to aid with your health and wellbeing, we can do light chores too. However, we aren’t cleaners and, therefore, won’t come in just to do cleaning.
Should you need a bit of help with laundry, dishes, or basic tidying during your visit, this can be arranged. It’s also up to you whether or not it gets done. We will include it in your plan, but you can refuse if, for any reason, you don’t want the housework done during that visit.
We assist with respite care for those who need it. Whether there is a live-in carer in place who needs a well-earned break, or you have taken on the care for a loved one yourself, our team can offer support. Remember, for you to be able to properly look after your family member, you also need to be physically and mentally healthy. Contact us today to see if we can assist with respite visits.
We have supported individuals with gastrostomy, tracheostomy, ventilation, as well as multiple diagnoses and severe health needs. Healthcare Assistants assigned to your team will not only undergo induction training but also need to sign off a range of competencies to show they know how best to complete tasks relating to more complex needs as well as general healthcare.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to take on clients who require live-in staff at this time.
No! A care agency provides care staff to other companies, whereas a domiciliary care company employs its own staff.
Unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship at present. However, if you are employed elsewhere, we may be able to offer you up to 20 hours of work per week as per sponsorship laws. Please contact us to discuss.
Within reason, yes! For visits including any form of personal care you may want to opt for a male/female Healthcare Assistant only, and this will be adhered to at all times. For social and mealtime visits, you may want to specify a preference, but it may not always be possible due to staff availability. Should you and a Healthcare Assistant not get on well, we can permanently remove them from your visits if requested.
We create a team of Healthcare Assistants for each client we have, so that visits can still be covered if a member of the team is unable to work. In extreme circumstances, visits may need to be cancelled if there is a genuine shortage of staff available. Cancellations will be decided on a needs basis, with priority for cover given to those with the most complex and urgent health needs. We may also reschedule some visits for a different time or day to minimise cancellations as much as possible.
Where possible, Healthcare Assistants should not accept gifts from clients. However, we recognise that you may want to give gifts for birthdays, Christmas or other festive celebrations, or other important events. If this is the case, please keep the limit to a MAXIMUM of £10. The Healthcare Assistant will need to report this to the office, which will be stored within your records.
While it is a lovely gesture, our policies prevent Healthcare Assistants from being involved or included in wills and testimonies. They are also unable to help with the creation or implementation of your will.
