New study reveals dementia drug that can help people stay at home
A recent BBC report reveals how one of the drugs that the NHS are phasing out for Dementia patients later in life, can actually help keep elderly patients at home for longer - according to new research.
A study of 295 people by UCL found that 20% of those taking donepezil were living in a nursing home within a year compared with 37% who were not given the drug.
Absolute Healthcare hope this awareness raising will go some way towards Donepezil being reconsidered for elderly people, as we regularly see the benefits of elderly people with dementia being able to be cared for in their own home and familiar surroundings.
